The indigenous sports of Gaelic football and hurling are the most popular sports in Ireland and also in the Geopark. Matches are played by all ages weekly in the towns and villages of the region thoughout the season (March-October). There is also an exhibition centre dedicated to Michael Cusack one of the founding members of the Gaelic Sporting organisation.
