“Ponta do Castelo” is a high and steeply sea cliff in the SE point of the island. It displays a complex stratigraphical sequence that includes marine sedimentary rocks (some with fossils) and submarine and terrestrial volcanic rocks. The sequence also includes several intrusive bodies (e.g. dykes). This location still has traces of the Whaling port, where you can see old platforms, tanks, boats and houses.
