Description

Landscape formed by the repetition of cabins and meadows at the bottom of the Glacier Valley and the slopes that contrast with the scenery of an abrupt mountain relief. The Lunada Glacier Valley makes this rural landscape unique, with its characteristic U-shape, easy to recognize from the viewpoint of Covalrruyo, with its background covered with glacial materials and its moraines of soft shapes; On this relief the Miera river styled its channel, removed the materials carried by the glacier and deposited its own sediments, which has favored the formation of a relatively fertile land.

The historical deforestation devastated the forests characteristic of the high valleys of the East Mountain, of which hardly remain the witness of the small forest mass of Garmas Blancas and the riverside forest, discontinuous, of the Miera, circumstance that accentuates the importance of relief in the character of this landscape.

The meadows cover the whole bottom of the valley, the plainest terrain and of better edaphic conditions, or they form groups in the watercourses formed by the stream sand on surfaces where the slope of the slopes is softened. The Cabins of Valcaballo, Huyonda and Breñaescobal, standout in the eastern slope of the valley on the lateral moraine that left the glacier, cut by the fluvial incision and the landslides (Argayos).
