Description
Huelgoat Geosite is an emblematic location on a regional scale, where magical landscapes and geology mingle. Men have visited it since the beginning of tourism history in France and some of the greatest painters, like Paul Sérusier (1864-1927), have painted it.
This site is designed for discovery and allows visitors to enjoy an immersive experience in the heart of a major granitic boulder field in Brittany.
In Huelgoat, one is immersed in the wonderful geological landscapes, the legendary Breton forest, the history of granite exploitation and a dense archaeological heritage.
Here, in a place favourable to the collective imagination, man has left his imprint for millennia.
Thanks to the discovery paths and the numerous interpretation panels, which stretch along the forest and the granitic boulder field, the visitors will be able to explore this picturesque geosite on their own.
The site has a remarkable heritage value in terms of biodiversity, which justified its integration to the Natura 2000 network.
