Description
The Carron Polje is the largest enclosed depression in Ireland, with an area of approximately 4.5 square kilometres. The “disappearing lake” or Turlough is the most noticeable part of the Polje. Walk the carron trail which leads passed the turlough and takes in the Clab Valley, and several archaeological monuments including St Fachtnan’s Holy Well.
