The upland landscape of the Geopark is dominated by Cuilcagh Mountain, with its distinctive flat – plateau shape it is visible from anywhere in the Geopark.  This is hardly, surprising as Cuilcagh mountain is the highest point of both counties Cavan and Fermanagh and the only true mountain in this part of the island of Ireland at 665m height.  This mountain is extremely popular with walkers and hikers, from the top of the mountain there are spectacular 360o views of the surrounding lowlands. On an exceptionally clear day it is possible to see both the Irish Sea and Atlantic Ocean from here.

Belmore mountain, Benaughlin mountain, Lough Navar forest and Slieve Rushen – are among the lower mountains that impose on the Geopark skyline. Each having their own distinctive range of natural, built and cultural antiquities which are waiting to be explored.
